If you live in Washington State here is some information that needs to get out.
The most important of this is that if you want to participate in the caucus or primary in your area, this Saturday (Jan. 19th) is the deadline to register. Please take time and register here is the Elections & Voting Website and click on Online Voter Registration. You will see the little computer mouse icon.
What is crazy about the Washington State caucus and primary, well is that there is both a caucus (Feb. 9th) and a primary (Feb. 19th). People can participate in both, only if your party affiliation stays the same in both.
Which isn’t saying that you have to vote party lines. I think the fact that in Washington you don’t have to register a democrat, republican or independent is a great thing. I have been a registered voter for only about four years and I have never had to affiliate myself with a specific party. I just don’t understand why there are two primaries and due to this, if you are so inclined to vote in both, then yes you have to vote within a specific party. However, most people won’t be voting in both. Or at least that is what I would assume.
Though again, why there are two, I have no idea? Why you can vote in both is another question I think is more important. What the reasons are though, make sure you remember to register by Saturday!!!!!
I HEART WASHINGTON STATE.
